Guns in Public?

Lately at the past two Presidential town hall meetings, there have been several men with guns wrapped around them. I realize we have a right to bear arms. This seems to take the civilized world about 150 years backward.

Gun people to me seem insecure. Oh, I am a Big Man with a Big Gun look at me. I am a real man.

In conclusion, we all have the right to bear arms. We all have the right to public assembly. I would be really concerned if one of these Big Men and their Big Gun showed up at the PTA meeting. America has made tremendous social progress. Yet, we have many more miles to travel.

I never agree with ordinary people having guns. But carrying guns in public whether they be civilians or military men, security guards or policemen who are off-duty, is something that I strongly disagree with. You were right when you said that they were showing what a Big Man they are. The only purpose of having a gun is to intimidate and to hurt people.

You so very right on this matter. The only message I receive by a gun is hurt and kill. These are painful words and ideas. I preffer peace and love. The world needs less guns and more understanding.Thank you for the intelligent comment.

The invention of gunpowder set the human race back ten thousand years. Because of it, we've never been able to work our way out of the Dark Ages.

When I saw and interview with a man protesting at an Obama rally with a gun strapped to his leg in a holster, I thought everyone was over reacting. It's no big deal. Now people are showing up all the time, it seems, with weapons. Or, at least the news makes it seem that way. I think people are going over-board now. There is no need to carry them everywhere you go.

The only problem with guns is that they kill. If you are in danger at your home, yea a gun may help. To be in public with a gun means your are looking for a reason to use it. What if this person becomes angry? What are they going to do with that gun? Our history is too violent to promote such behavior.
