What is Going On?

Now that Labor Day has passed, we are down to business. The children are all back in school and as we all move forward to cooler weather as the leaves begin to change from green to red, yellow and brown. However, all is not well.

The President attempted to speak to the school children about taking responsibility for their education. The public in some corners took this as a form of socialism. Some parents refused to allow their children to go to school. This will clearly knock them out of perfect attendance rewards.

Health care is front and center. The news indicates that of a person dose not have insurance you may be fined. One source stated, that there will be counselor available to advise death options. There is also talk about rationed medicine as well.

The truth is: This has become very ugly. Freedom of speech is a good thing, but it is not pretty. We must all fight for the truth. President Obama will give a big speech on health care reform tonight. Most people will tune him out.

We must all seek the truth. This is a hard job. That means we must read the information on what is best for the nation and our families. We really need jobs. Health care is wonderful, but who cares if you don't have a job. Whats' going on? We need to know the truth.

Sometimes, to find truth, we must take our eyes off of our own situations and look beyond and see others far away.

It is hard to know where you are, if you don't know where everybody else is, first. :)

Check out other governments all over the globe. See how things are in other countries. You might end up appreciating what you have, more. :) OR you might end up enlightened in many other ways. :)

I find it interesting that the issue of "truth" keeps coming up. Many of us are writing about it. What many overlook is that truth has nothing to do with outlook or opinion. Pursuit of truth is both a noble and required exercise.

I agree with you that this has become very ugly. I don't understand why some in America are so scared of a public run health care system. I know a lot about American history, but this is still blown way out of proportion. I don't think Obama is going at this correctly but it just seems to me that your health care system couldn't get any worse. To be honest, I don't even think America even has one.

I think people always dwell on the worst possible scenario that change brings. The media doesn't help alleviate those concerns and it always appears to myself that the media loves to focus on the negative.

It's no secret that our health care system is complete trash. At this point, trying something new feels necessary. Mistakes may happen along the way, but how else does one progress to a better system if no effort is made to change things?
